Queen of the Fiesta 2011

Annarosa González was raised in Watertown, Wisconsin and graduated from Watertown High School in 2008. She has been working at Lincoln Elementary School as a bilingual paraprofessional promoting communication between English-speaking s
taff and Spanish-speaking students and parents by interpreting and translating at the school.

Annarosa is an American, living in an American society. At the same time, she maintains her native language, Spanish, and her Mexican culture at home. She enjoys attending Mexican dances every weekend. Her father and mother’s father are from Zacatecas, Mexico, while Annarosa’s mother, like Annarosa herself, grew up in Racine, Wisconsin. Annarosa says, “I enjoy several types of music including rap and R&B music as well as música urbana and norteñas”.

When she was asked, “What do you think makes you a good choice for Queen of the Fiesta?” Annarosa answered, “I’m bilingual, I was raised in Watertown, and have friends involved in both cultures.” Annarosa takes part in activities with both American and Latino cultures and has been an outstanding representative for Fiesta Cultural Latinoamericana 2011.
