 INTER-AMERICAN MAGNET SCHOOL (IAMS), a national model for dual language/multicultural education, and the only public school to ever be founded by parents, is proud to announce its annual benefit. The school is hosting an evening of world music, dance, food and art activities on April 28, 2007 from 3:00 to 8:00 PM. The event will take place on the school campus, located at 851 West Waveland, between Fremont Ave. and Halsted Ave. in Chicago’s Lake View neighborhood. The lineup currently includes local artists and folkloric dance troupes like Tierra Colombiana and Rico Dance Studio. The goal is to raise $30,000 with an audience of 600+ including community members and leaders, educators, families, politicians and other VIP supporters. Proceeds will support the school mission to advance academic excellence through bilingualism and multiculturalism.
