ART FAIR

FERRIA DEL ARTE
GENERAL INFORMATION
Artists who are invited to participate will be contacted by email, mail or phone and asked to confirm that they wish to participate. We have a limited number of tables which must be ordered in advance as well as a need to keep the types of vendors balanced.
The Fair is scheduled for (date and time)____ in the gym. You may begin to unload and set up at (time)____. Volunteers will be available to help you.
The artist is expected to arrive by _:00 pm and be set up by the time the fair officially opens at __:00; be present for the duration of the fair and pack up in a reasonable amount of time. Volunteers will also be available to watch your table if you need a short break. If you would like to participate, but cannot attend, you are welcome to send someone to represent you.
Fiesta Cultural will provide the artist with postcards to publicize the event to their mailing list.  Posters will also be available.
Artists will be notified when the postcards and posters are available.

In exchange for a piece of your work (valued at 50$ or more for our Silent Auction) and 20% of your total sales, artists will be provided with a table and a space where they may put up additional displays if they wish.
We will accept cash or a check for the 20% you are donating to FELE; in exchange, you will receive a receipt you may use for your taxes.  FELE is a 501c3 status institution, all donations made to it are tax deductible.
It is up to you, the artist, what forms of payment you wish to accept.

SUBMISSION GUIDELINES
The Fiesta Cultural Art Fair is a Juried Art Fair. All artwork must be submitted to the jurors for aproval. Submissions will not be accepted after (date)____
Submissions may be in the form of photos, email images or the actual artwork. All submissions will be returned to the artist.
Please submit 3 to 7  images of your work or product with your price range, resume' and artist's statement to:
(email address:  webmaster@fiestacultural.org) or (Fiesta Cultural Art Fair Jury c/o address of the school)
Any artist may apply but please alert us if you are also a  parent in the school or a fair trade organization -or both!

JURY GUIDELINES

What kind of work are we looking for Fiesta del Artes Latino?
First and foremost, we want to involve Artists that are from or embody an aesthetic from a Latin American country.  We also would like to stress Fair Trade products where people who are generating the product are being fairly paid for their work.  This fits with our curriculum of pride in students’ heritage and in caring for our neighbors.
We also would accept artists who are parents in the school.  It is important for children to see people they know making and selling art and having it valued in the community. We want to inspire our children and show them that things they make with their hands are valued. Children should see what parents do for a living.  It should be accessible and not mysterious or obscure.

We want people with children to attend.  We believe that our arts and crafts, especially those for kids be made of natural materials and handmade.  This will keep the look unique and also set a great example for the kids that wonderful things can be created by people in a community not just bought at a store where you don’t know the person who created it.  We will search for children’s items that will enhance their creativity and imagination and promote their senses and aesthetic sensibilities.

We are hoping to carry quality artwork that is original and affordable.
We are looking for functional and decorative artwork.  We are looking for contemporary, attractive items that will appeal to the discerning customer. Items that are so unique, our customers will feel they won’t find these things anywhere else.

We want to encourage the time-honored traditions of making arts and crafts to support their practice and continuation and as a way of supporting sustainability and promoting  items whose in-house production  has a low-impact on this beautiful earth of ours.

Lastly, we want to encourage up-and-coming artisans; especially students, to show them they can make money creating lovely things and that people appreciate the things they make.  This will give them valuable life skills and build self esteem as well as augmenting their income!

Always, we are keeping an eye towards a balanced selection of materials and items and also to continuing to build our client base and attract more fairgoers who know they can count on the IAMS Fair for beautiful, well made and interesting pieces from the Latin Arts community.

Submissions after our deadline cannot be considered in order to allow sufficient planning time and in fairness to the other artists who went through the proper channels in a timely fashion.


PAUTAS de JURADO

¿Qué clase del trabajo miramos nosotros para Artes de del de Fiesta latinas? Antes que nada, nosotros queremos implicar Artistas que son de o personifican un estético de un país latinoamericano. Querríamos también enfatizar los productos Justos del Comercio donde personas que engendran el producto se paga bastante por su trabajo. Esto queda con nuestro plan del orgullo en la herencia de estudiantes y a cuidar de a nuestros vecinos. Aceptaríamos también a artistas que son padres en la escuela. Es importante para niños vea personas ellos saben hacer y venta el arte y lo teniendo valoró en la comunidad. Queremos inspirar nuestros niños y los muestra que cosas ellos hacen con manos son valorados. Los niños deben ver a qué padres hacen para un vivir. No debe ser accesible y misterioso u oscuro.

Queremos que personas con niños asistan. Creemos que nuestras artesanías, especialmente ésos para niños están hecho de materias naturales y hecho a mano. Esto mantendrá el parece extraordinario y puso también un gran ejemplo para los niños que cosas maravillosas pueden ser creadas por personas en una comunidad no compró apenas en una tienda donde usted no sabe a la persona que creó. Buscaremos para artículos de niños que aumentarán su creatividad y la imaginación y promoverán sus sentidos y las sensibilidades estéticas.

Esperamos llevar la calidad el trabajo artístico que es original y económico. Buscamos el trabajo artístico funcional y decorativo. Buscamos contemporáneo, artículos atractivos que apelarán al cliente discernido. Los artículos que son tan extraordinarios, nuestros clientes se sentirán que ellos no encontrarán estas cosas dondequiera más.

Queremos alentar las tradiciones tiempo-honorados de hacer las artesanías a sostener su práctica y la continuación y como una manera de sostenibilidad secundarios y promover artículos cuya producción interna tiene un bajo-impacto en esta tierra hermosa nuestro.

Ultimamente, queremos alentar arriba y artesanos venideros; especialmente estudiantes, para mostrarlos ellos pueden hacer dinero que crea las cosas encantadoras y que personas aprecian las cosas que ellos hacen. ¡Esto les dará habilidades valiosas de vida y construirá auto estima así como aumentar sus ingresos!

Siempre, mantenemos un ojo hacia una selección equilibrada de materias y artículos y también a continuar para construir nuestra base de cliente y atraer más fairgoers que sabe que ellos pueden contar con el IAMS Justo para pedazos hermosos bien hechos e interesantes de la comunidad latina de Artes.

Las sumisiones después que nuestra fecha tope no se puede considerar para permitir la planificación suficiente tiempo y en la justicia a los otros artistas que atravesaron los canales apropiados en una moda oportuna.
